Hello, I’m still alive!!
A bunch of us (Maiko, Heather, Jonas and Wendy) went to Auberge du Pommier for Winterlicious lunch a few weeks ago, after many attempts to make plans for food over the past couple months.
Auberge du Pommier is a really quaint restaurant that is part of the Oliver & Bonacini chain. The restaurant is situated in a 19th century cottage, which is very reminiscent of a house with a very romantic and rustic feel to it. The ambiance of the restaurant makes for a romantic date location, or a classy get together with friends and/or family.
The restaurant specializes in classic french cuisine, and there’s a beautiful patio that’s available during the spring & summer.
With that said, on to the food pictures~
Beautiful decor found in the centre of one of the dining areas.
Winterlicious ’16 menu.
Potate à la courge.
Winter squash soup, espelette & sheep’s milk cheese, pumpkin seeds.
Pâté de Campagne
Pork pâté, beet gelée, country bread and mustard.
Red wine braised beef cheek with pearl onions, bacon lardon and winter root vegetables.
Gâteaux aux Amande
Apple and almond cake, with vanilla ice cream.
Vacherin aux Grenade
Maple semifreddo, meringue, pomegranate chantilly.
All in all, we had a good experience at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the dessert did not leave me disappointed (unlike The Fifth Grill & Terrace). The service was really prompt, and all the waiters & waitresses were really polite and attentive. As an Oliver & Bonacini restaurant, it definitely does not disappoint.
