My reading week has sadly came to an end this week, however, I’ve finally gotten around to posting again! If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen the Innisfree Creammellow Lipsticks pictured in it (along with the Hera UV Mist Ultra Moisture Cushion which I will review at a later date)! These lipsticks were released as a part of their fall 2014 collection! I was planning to buy them earlier but I kind of got side tracked with other purchases.
I’ve been buying a lot of lip products lately, especially some darker colours because they’re one of the major trends for this fall. I just couldn’t pass up buying some of these lipsticks; oddly enough, I habitually purchase lipsticks in threes. I mostly bought into them for the berry colour, because I’m really loving dark lip trend this fall. I bought 6 – Plum Pink, 8 – Moistfull Dewy Red, and 9 – Blueberry Burgundy ^^, but there’s 7 other colours available as well!
The high gloss gel base fills the lips curves smoothly to make lips look more voluminous, while the perfect fit formula prolongs the wear of the colours so that they are long lasting. It also includes camellia oil which creates a moisture shield on the lips, so that it prevents them from drying out, and keeps them looking healthy. The formula is 3-free, which means that it does not contain the following things: animal materials, talc, and benzophenone.

The lipstick casing looks like the Color Glow lipsticks, but with rose gold instead of silver. It’s relatively thinner and longer than the typical lipstick, which gives it a sleek look. It has the colour indicator on the base of the case, and on the inside it has a short description of the product.
The lipsticks have great colour pay-off, but it can also be applied lightly for a sheer wash of colour. In my opinion, they are similar to the Aritaum Honey Melting Tints in terms of application on its own, because it drags a little and it feels tacky to touch. Despite that, it feels moisturizing to the lips because it contains camellia oil. I feel as if it doesn’t have that really smooth, buttery finish when it’s applied on its own, but maybe that’s because of the dryness caused by the cold weather. I would highly recommend applying a lip balm under it. The oils in the lip balm help the product glide on easier, and the finish looks a lot creamier, smoother, and shiny. I don’t have a problem with the additional step of lip balm since it’s practically a necessity in the fall and winter. But I don’t think it feels great on its own, so that might be something to take into consideration if you have dry lips or if you live in colder climates. On the bright side, it did not accentuate dryness or sink into lines!
The berry colour is not as dark as the bullet or the swatch in the advertised picture, so this isn’t it if you’re looking for something dark for that vampy looking lip. But this will appeal to you if you want a more wearable, low-maintenance lip colour! The lipsticks last around 3 hours before fading gracefully into a faint tint. The colour still appears even, which is great since some lipsticks or lip tints become uneven or blotchy after they fade a bit. It survives eating and drinking quite well, but the gloss disappears after consumption.
#8 Moistfull Dewy Red
#6 Plum Pink – Lighting changed due to the weather
All in all, I am quite fond of these lipsticks! The shades are buildable, so they offer a lot of versatility for whatever look you’re trying to achieve. I think there’s a colour for practically everyone, whether you like the lighter pinks and corals, or the bolder reds and berry colours.
It is within the drugstore price range at around $12-14 or so, although they are on the more expensive side of that category. I think it’s great relative to other lipsticks within its price range, because it provides great colour coverage, as well as a glossy effect. However, I probably would not purchase this for anymore than that because it doesn’t feel the same as the mid-high end lipsticks.
And for those wondering what the difference between the Creammellow and Color Glow lipsticks is- the Creammellow lipsticks have a glossy finish, while the Color Glow lipsticks have a more subdued dewy finish.
+ Glossy finish
+ Relatively long-lasting
OVERALL QUALITY: ★★★★☆
